The hidden blade

A lot of thought can go into a game's weapons, but when you make a weapon, it usually has a specific purpose. The hidden blade in Assassin's Creed is a fantastic weapon in the fact of it fits the game perfectly. It's hidden, small, and can kill quickly which are all qualities an assassin looks for. In any other game, this weapon would probably be laughed at because of a comparison to a sword or something bigger (except by me because I am a big fan of stealth). I believe that without this weapon, Assassin's Creed wouldn't have been anywhere near as successful as it was. When I think about the fact that the game seems based around one major weapon, that could be a weakness since it's the only extremely cool thing, but I think people were to amused with secretly stabbing people to care.

Big Daddies

This is a Big Daddy from Bioshock. As far as things that try to kill you in video games, Big Daddies are definately my favorite. They have two types throughout the game, one with a drill arm (called a Bouncer) and one with a rivet gun (called Rosie). Almost everyone I know likes the one with the drill arm, as do I. You never really expect a thing in a diving suit to be able to attack you with a drill attached to it. You also don't expect a little girl to be leading it around calling it Mr. Bubbles, but Bioshock makes it seem commonplace down in the underwater city of Rapture. As far as the design goes, I can't think of many ways to make it better. It's size makes it an intimidating enemy, and lets you know that if you make it mad, there's a good chance you'll die. Although since you have to kill them to get at the Little Sisters leading them around to get better skills in the game, you have to deal with them. It makes them an extremely fun enemy because they're challenging, and after you defeat an enemy that has 300 pounds on you, you feel accomplished. That makes Big Daddy's an excellent enemy.
